Mandy Burns
Be Collective

Mandy Burns, Director-Stakeholder Development at Be Collective, trained as a psychologist, initially worked in private practice before befittingly starting at a children’s charity as a volunteer and ending up the CEO. Mandy works at Be Collective because she wants to activate a social revolution of sorts making volunteering and contributing to our community part of our DNA. Mandy lives, works, plays and volunteers locally. She loves spending time with family and friends and running 4-5 times a week- including a 60km jaunt for Fred Hollows Foundation last year. Her mantra is never doubt that a small group of people can change the world, it is the only thing that ever has” which led her start the local Boomerang Bags chapter to support the South Melbourne Market to become plastic bag free, pick up litter with Beach Patrol and Love Our Streets and join the Board of national educational charity EdConnect.
